Qualifications:

Applicants should have prior law enforcement/police officer experience and must have completed or be willing to complete an acceptable School Resource Officer training course as prescribed by PA Act 67.

Availabilty: On call District Wide Shifts may vary based upon needs and may include daytime hours, evening hours and weekend hours and may occur at any school level, i.e. elementary or secondary. Shifts may be prescheduled and/or occur at the last minute requiring last minute notice and response.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for preserving the safety, health and welfare of students, staff members and visitors in the assigned building or event. The security officer should strive to prevent any theft and vandalism of school district property and the property of others while on school premises, prevent and respond to disruptive student/visitor behavior, monitor areas surrounding schools for unsafe circumstances, oversee arrival and dismissal of students, provide support for recess activities and perform any other school safety and security related functions as prescribed and directed by supervisors.  The security officer works under the supervision of the district school safety officer and the building principal(s).
